In October of 2006, Micah Sharai Walker (Vocals) & Marcus Edwards III (Guitar 1) met on the Campus of the University of Houston. Immediately they started writing and performing as an acoustic duo under the name Versecity. While building a foundation for Versecity they searched for the rest of the pieces to make a full band. Drummer prodigy Daniel Rascoe “Boy” was added in November of 2007 and on January 12th of 2008 Verseciy played its first show as an “almost full band”. A month and a half later in late February (2008) the Venezuelan guitarist, Nelson Baradat (Guitar 2), was added to strengthen the sound. Finally, the boys brought in Bassist Jared Kindel from Michigan in June of 2008 to complete the assembly. While building a solid home fan base by playing shows with national acts like Cobra Starship, We the Kings, Thee Armada, Mercy Mercades, Parade the Day, and Bang Camero; Versecity also released their first full length album on January 9th 2009, a couple days eve of the bands one year anniversary. Currently Versecity (completely independent) is networking and trying to turn as many heads as possible while making the entire world become Believers. If you want to see Versecity in your city then spread the word to everyone you know and they’ll come knock down the door and show your town the best show it’s ever seen.
To accomplish great things we must not only act but also dream, not only plan but also believe... In the words of vocalist Micah Sharai Walker,
"BELIEVE IN VERSECITY!" |
